Steering own development

The competency Steering your own development describes whether you are working on your own development and whether you are taking the initiative in it. An example of a question is: "I set myself concrete goals to develop further".

Development tips

• Formulate learning objectives prior to a study assignment and evaluate them in the interim and afterwards.
• Actively look for opportunities to develop yourself, such as taking extra courses and courses.
• Increase your knowledge, for example by reading extra articles, taking extra courses or organizing activities for fellow students.
• Use feedback from others to formulate learning goals for yourself.
• If there is a task within your study group that you can learn from, take it.
• Follow the developments in the field of your study.
• Discuss with your teacher what opportunities there are to develop yourself outside the standard study program.
• Take opportunities to shadow more experienced students.
