Result orientation

The Result-oriented competency indicates whether your behaviour and decisions are aimed at actually achieving results and objectives. An example of a question for this competency is: "At the start of tasks or a project, I set measurable objectives".

Development tips

• Discuss with your study advisor what goals you would like to achieve in an academic year and record this.
• Make sure that the goals set are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound (SMART).
• Also formulate concrete and achievable intermediate goals on the way to the final goal.
• Find out what or who you need to actually finish a study assignment.
• Check the progress of a study assignment yourself and make adjustments where necessary.
• Make sure you keep going until the result is achieved. Commit yourself by, for example, indicating to fellow students when they can expect your part of the study assignment and what it will consist of.
• Discuss your results and experiences with fellow students.
• Talk to others if they do not comply with the agreements of the study group regarding the results they deliver.
