Reflecting

The Reflecting competency indicates the extent to which you are able to think about your own behaviour, results achieved and performance. It also indicates the extent to which you are willing to do things differently. An example of a question for this competency is: "I use feedback from others to adjust my behavior or working method".

Development tips

  • Find out what you are good at and how you can use it in your studies.
  • Think about which qualities you would like to develop further and how this could be done during your studies.
  • Describe a situation during the study that makes you think: 'I should never have handled it like this'. Find out what the most important learning points have been.
  • Regularly ask others for feedback on your contribution to study assignments.
  • If someone gives you feedback, show appreciation for the person giving the feedback and ask for concrete examples.
  • Make a clear plan to improve your performance.
  • See mistakes as an opportunity to develop.
  • Be realistic in how you look at yourself. Everyone has good and less good sides.
