Positive attitude
The Positive Attitude competency is about staying positive when approaching problems. Don't worry and be completely preoccupied with the problem. An example of a question that belongs to this competence is: "After an unpleasant event, I keep worrying about it".
Development tips
- Discuss your problems with someone you trust and feel comfortable with. It helps to talk about it. If you don't, the problems in your head can get bigger and it becomes more difficult to tackle a problem.
- Find distractions. This allows you to take a step back from your problems, which may allow you to look at your own situation and problems with a different perspective.
- Focus your attention on the things that are going well. What made it go well? Can you do that again?
- Take care of yourself. Bring regularity into your life by getting enough sleep, eating regularly and healthily and providing enough exercise or sports.
- Get help. Contact the dean or student psychologist. There are also various options for seeking help online. You can also always go to your doctor to discuss your situation.
