Integrity

The Integrity competency says something about whether you are reliable and sincere and whether you act in accordance with generally accepted norms and values. An example of a question that belongs to this competence is: "I admit my own mistakes and do not shift the blame to others".

Development tips

  • Make sure you keep to agreements and obligations.
  • If you get hold of confidential information, handle it with care.
  • Take responsibility for your actions and openly admit mistakes made.
  • Do not withhold information to which someone else is entitled.
  • Even in the face of temptation or pressure, continue to act honestly and reliably.
  • Say exactly what you mean, use unambiguous language.
  • Ask what (honest) behaviour is expected of you within your study or study group and why.
  • Look for examples of difficult situations where integrity played a role. Discuss how you acted in this and what you can improve.
