Follow instructions

The Competency Following Instructions describes how you deal with guidelines and procedures in the execution of your work. An example of a question for this competence is: "I adhere to the applicable rules and procedures".

Development tips

• Review the procedures or study manual prior to the task.
• Be aware of the time schedule, for example drop-off times, and include them in your planning.
• Make sure the rules are clear to you before you start a task.
• Make sure you know who you can reach if you have questions about the procedures and guidelines.
• Make sure that your study assignments at least meet the existing rules and criteria.
• Work orderly and follow the instructions/manuals step by step, make sure you don't skip anything.
• Make sure you find out what happens when things are unclear about the procedures.
