Contact orientation

The competency Contact Orientation indicates the extent to which you are focused on entering into and maintaining (professional) relationships. An example of a question that belongs to this competence is: "I easily start a conversation with a stranger".

Development tips

• Spend enough time and attention on the social contacts you have for your studies.
• Look at how others behave in contacts with others and adopt the behavior that suits you.
• Make it a habit to greet others everywhere you go.
• Approach fellow students and talk to them.
• Ask questions and summarize in your own words what the other person has said.
• Find out which beliefs are holding you back from making contact and write them down accurately (e.g. people don't like to be addressed or I have nothing to say). Watch them again an hour later and come up with counterarguments.
• Join a study association, bar committee in a student bar, or sports association.
