NOA wins tender for Stroomopwaarts

On the road! of NOA has been chosen by Stroomopwaarts as a diagnostic instrument for the entire participation target group (800 to 1000 people per year), especially because Op Weg! screens all habitats and promotes methodical work. Stroomopwaarts implements, among other things, the Participation Act and the New Civic Integration Act for the municipalities of Maassluis, Vlaardingen and Schiedam.

And also at the Municipality of Leidschendam-Voorburg

NOA has also won a tender from the Municipality of Leidschendam-Voorburg. With the Op weg! assessment, strengths and development opportunities of both the regular social assistance group and non-native speakers are mapped out

Many selections successfully executed

In recent months, NOA has again supported various programmes in selections for Bachelor's programmes. In addition to selections for medicine, clinical technology and oral hygiene, for example, there was also a new and very special one this year: the selection for the Aerospace Engineering programme at TU Delft. More than 2000 students from all over the world participated in this selection. Proctoring is used in these selection tests. Sometimes this is for some of the participants and sometimes for the whole group. This gives as many participants as possible the opportunity to participate in the selection.

Study progress meter for MBO 1 and 2?

NOA is currently evaluating the MBO Study Progress Meter (SVM) and is investigating how this instrument can be made more suitable for MBO level 1 and level 2 students. To this end, NOA has spoken to a number of student counsellors within MBO who have experience with this instrument. The interviews show that the supervisors are very positive about the SVM for students level 3 and 4. The student counsellor gains better insight into aspects such as the student's well-being, motivation, competencies and support needs. The results of the SVM provide valuable input for the guidance interview with the student. Causes of some problems that the supervisor could not put a finger on at first become clearer. The students sometimes find making the SVM exciting in the beginning, but experience the conversation as a result of the SVM as very pleasant because it is about them and they recognize themselves in it.

Previous feedback shows that the SVM is less suitable for the lower MBO levels. This was discussed in the discussions with the student counsellors. Reasons they put forward include: language, length of the instrument, relevance of a number of aspects in the current SVM and certain aspects that are relevant to this target group but are not currently included in the SVM. NOA will use this input for further development and adjustment of the SVM. The investigation is still ongoing. We will inform you when the SVM for levels 1 and 2 will take more concrete forms.
