Financial Fitness Test
Debts and financial problems cause a lot of stress and can thus get in the way of tackling other problems. That is why NOA has developed the financial fitness test in collaboration with municipalities. The test is a new part of the assessment On the road! that social services use to help their customers get started.
Financial fitness means that you have a grip on your money matters and that you are aware of your income, expenses, savings behavior and future plans. Financial fitness plays a crucial role in your well-being. When you are financially fit, you experience less stress, you can respond better to unexpected situations and you build a stable future. When you have financial problems, this can overshadow everything.
Sometimes people do not dare to admit that there are debts, or they know approximately how their money matters stand, but miss the total overview. This can create uncertainty: "Can I continue to pay my fixed costs? Do I have enough buffer for setbacks? Am I at risk of debt?" The Financial Fitness Test helps to answer those questions.
The financial fitness test is a short questionnaire with reporting that provides insight into various themes, such as:
- Budget awareness – do you know exactly where your money is going?
- Buffer and savings – do you have enough reserves for emergencies?
- Debts – are your loans and liabilities manageable?
The questionnaire provides insight into which parts require attention. It does not give judgment, but is a practical tool to make yourself aware of your financial situation and thus implement improvements step by step with guidance.
