Assessment in the AI era

On March 26, 2026, we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the NOA Foundation with an inspiring afternoon full of meeting, looking back and looking ahead. We will reflect on the theme of Assessment, AI and diversity, and how we can continue to contribute to fair access to education and the labour market in the future.

Prof. Marise Born will give her farewell lecture on psychological assessment, cultural differences and AI in a diverse world. Click here for the official invitation to her farewell speech.

Dr. Djurre Holtrop will provide an engaging and interactive key-note on the influence of recent AI developments on job applicants and students.

Prof. Dr. Erik Scherder will give his view on the pitfalls of AI, underutilization and declining intelligence.

In addition, we say goodbye to two founders of NOA: 

Prof. Nico Bleichrodt and Prof. Pieter J.D. Drenth in an in-depth panel discussion on 30 years of psychological test development, diversity issues and the influence of AI.

All this is accompanied by the well-known chairman of the day: Özcan Akyol (Eus)

Practical information

The symposium starts on the second floor in the 'Auditorium' of the main building of the VU. 

Marise Born's farewell speech will take place in the 'Aula'.

The symposium will be indicated in the central hall of the main building of the VU with directional signs.

The VU buildings are located around a central campus square. The VU campus is easily accessible due to the nearby Amsterdam Zuid station and various metro, tram and bus lines.
